The Force snooker team plays under the name ‘The Peelers’ and we compete in the Wrington Vale Snooker League. Games are played on Tuesday nights and the season is played between September and April. Our home venue is the Mizzymead Recreational Centre in Nailsea. The remaining sides in the league are based across North Somerset. There are currently 8 teams in the league, and we have 9 players registered in our section. We are always on the lookout for new players – so if you are interested please contact the team Captain, Rich Powell.
The side consists of 3 players each week. Each player plays 2 frames, making a total of 6 on the night. Games start at 7.30pm and usually finish around 10pm. The standard is friendly but competitive. There is also the opportunity to compete in individual or doubles competitions. All of which are good fun.
The snooker section had another positive season in the Wrington Vale Snooker League this season, finishing 5th in the league of 8. The final points haul last season was the most in recent seasons and highlights the progress the team is making. In addition to the regular season, the section members also performed in the Open & Handicap individual competitions, competing in regional events. This season also saw the inaugural Internal A&S snooker competition. The event was a success, and will hopefully lead to a few new members in the section in future. It has also established links with the Bath Police snooker team and it is anticipated that annual matches will now be played between the two sides. The Internal competition will now run annually.
Anybody interested in playing in the snooker section should contact the section captain Rich Powell.
