Brief Overview
The Tour has been running now for well over 20 years and consists of a four day long weekend in Devon at the beginning of September each year.
Currently accommodation is provided at Exeter University during the student summer vacation. Matches are played each day at various locations in Devon. A coach provides the travel throughout the weekend.
It is a separate organisation from both the Northern & Southern Force Bowling Teams, although members from each of those teams support it.
In the early years the tour consisted mainly of serving and retired police officers & civilian staff supplemented by members of GB Brittons B C. Sadly due to the passage of time the numbers of police and civilian staff have steadily declined and we have to rely on members of various civilian clubs to make up the numbers. For this reason we are anxious to recruit any serving or retired police or civilian staff with an interest in bowling. It is restricted to men only.
The tour is open to any serving or retired male police or civilian staff with an interest in bowling.
Brief Overview: The lawn bowls touring team was founded in the late 1970’s, initially by officers in the south of the Force area. Save for a couple of years in the ‘80’s it has continued annually almost every year to date. It is a separate organisation from both the Northern and Southern Force Bowling Sections although members from both support the tour.
With just one or two exceptions, the tour has been based in Devon and for the past ten years accommodation has been provided by Exeter University.
In the early years the team consisted of mainly serving and retired police and support staff. Sadly those numbers have declined over the years and the team has to rely on guest players to make up the numbers. For this reason we are continually endeavouring to recruit new members from serving or retired Police and Support Staff.

The Club grant awarded to the team each year benefits only Force club members.
Past year & Future Activities :
A successful tour was held during September 2014 with bowling venues at Exonia (Exeter) Teignmouth, Torbay and Topsham.
In September this year matches will be played at Newton Abbot, Sidmouth, Plymouth and Crediton.
Venues for 2016 have been agreed.
