The Police dive Club is group of friendly trained divers who come together from various diving backgrounds and with varying experience from open water and sports divers up to Instructor level. We aim to dive throughout the year, taking advantage of our beautiful south coast dive sites which allows both shore diving and the use of various dive boats.
There will always be a buddy to dive with and always lots of help and guidance around the dive sites and during our trips. Shore diving allows our divers the opportunity of visiting smaller dive sites which the bigger clubs stay away from and with relatively shallow depths gets people back in the water if they have been away for a while and build confidence in those who are less experienced.
There will be a number of boat trips to dive on reefs and wrecks located in close to our shores allowing experienced divers the opportunity of diving to the depths they have been trained at, but also less experienced divers to gain confidence and build their dive training.
The 2017 season is well under way now and club members have just returned from 3 days diving in Pembrokeshire. A variety of dives and locations allowed for all levels of experience. Although the visibility on a couple of the boat dives was not brilliant, the sea life was exceptional due to the protected areas we were diving in. Some of the lobsters, spider crabs and scallops were some of the biggest seen. A number of dives on the Devon and Dorset coastlines have already been completed by club members, including Chesil Cove, Brixham and Westbay. We are also regularly visiting our training ground at Vobster quay which gives a great dive location if the weather is poor on the coast.
Although we are unable to train non certified or new divers we have many contacts at clubs which are able to facilitate these training courses. For all you trained divers who have been away from the water for a while, get in contact and join us for a social, you never know you may just get your gear back out and dust it off.
All divers must be fit to dive and sign a self certificated form or doctors note. The force club has generously assisted with diving costs which helps with training, travelling and of course, getting in the water.
